1. KlimaCampus für Bielefeld

“2 Days for Our Future” – this is the motto of the 1st ClimateCampus for schools in Bielefeld this year.

The ClimateCampus is a joint project. It brings together two events:

• the city School Climate Summit by the Office of Education, the Environmental Office, and ISB

• the civil society program JUKIBIE by the Andreas Mohn Foundation

The event is supported by Stadtwerke Bielefeld.

Day 1 (July 2, 2024):
Students can go on excursions. They learn outside and at special places in Bielefeld about climate protection, sustainability, and the environment.

Day 2 (July 3, 2024):
At the Town Hall there are different workshops about these topics.
Projects supported by the KlimaSchule program will be presented.
Schools in the Energiesparen macht Schule program will get awards.
Thanks to the Andreas Mohn Foundation, all schools presenting projects on July 3 can also win a public choice award.

Schools working on climate protection and saving resources on their own are also welcome to present their projects. Interested schools should register by the end of May by email.

The registration process will start soon. The official invitation, full program, and registration information will follow in the next weeks. Here are some first insights:

• Sentana Foundation – “Farm Rally at Sentana Farm” (Primary & Orientation Level)

• Luisenschule – “Cooking with rescued food” (Grades 5–9)

• Hof Ramsbrock – Farm tour (Primary & Grades 5 & 6)

• Build Solar Model Cars I – 2-day workshop (Grades 4–6)

• Stadtwerke Bielefeld – “We build a wind turbine” (Grades 7–9)

• Stadtwerke Bielefeld / Mobil – “Our buses and trains – Bielefeld Climate Train” (from Grade 7)

• Global Goals Bike Path – Guided bike tour with Welthaus Bielefeld (16+ years)

• Gut Wilhelmsdorf – Barn and farm tour (Primary & Grades 5 & 6)

• Environmental Office Bielefeld – “Plastic in the Sea” (Primary & Grades 5 & 6)

• Hike with Rangers – through the Teutoburg Forest with forest education team

• Gymnasium Bethel – “Making spreads yourself” (from Grade 7)

• Helmholtzgymnasium – Visit the rooftop garden and “green classroom” (from Grade 5)
