Acting out Art

Through the ages at the Comprehensive School Rosenhöhe

During the second grand opening of the project Art Goes To School at the Comprehensive School Rosenhöhe the audience got an impression of how creative and enthusiastic pupils can be about interpreting and re-enacting famous works of art.
Pupils from year seven introduced the members of the audience to sections of the works of art in six “picture stories”. Through free association with sections of the pictures, the young actors and actresses staged little sketches – the audience acknowledged their efforts with rapturous applause! The two pianists Volkan and Muhammed rounded off the celebration by their performances. The creative fusion of pictures with theatre and music was a great success!

When the pictures were finally uncovered, the School of Athens by Raffeallo Santi (Raffael), Chalk Cliffs of Rugen by Caspar David Friedrich, Large-Town-Triptych by Otto Dix, The Cactuslover by Carl Spitzweg, Madame Monet with her Son by Claude Monet and The Circus by Georges Seurat were revealed. The domestic economics course of year eight conjured up a fine buffet so that all the guests were able to get into conversation with each other about art.
